What is cancer screening?
Screening means checking for signs of a health concern before you feel unwell. At Stepin’s community screenings, a trained health professional carries out a clinical examination and talks with you about what they find.
If something needs a closer look, you are guided towards the next step, such as further tests at a hospital. Stepin’s team then keeps in touch to help make sure that step actually happens.
Why it matters
Concerns found early are usually easier to act on. Screening is most useful when it is followed through: an examination, a clear answer, a referral if needed, and someone checking in afterwards. That is the pathway Stepin works to provide.

Find a screening
Check the upcoming events below, or message us to ask where and when the next one is.

Register
A member of the team records your details and asks for your consent to take part. You are never made to continue.
- Step 3
See the physician
A trained health professional examines you and listens to any worries you have.
- Step 4
Understand the outcome
You are told what was found and what is recommended next, in plain words.
- Step 5
Referral, if needed
If a closer look is advised, Stepin refers you to a partner facility.

We follow up
Stepin’s team keeps in touch to help make sure you get the care you were referred for.
