Raise Awareness. Encourage Screening. Save Lives.

In partnership with Spyy Entertainment

Stepin Women Foundation, in partnership with Spyy Entertainment, is bringing breast cancer awareness, education and screening closer to communities through the Music for Life Initiative: a community-focused campaign designed to encourage early detection, improve knowledge about breast cancer and connect people with appropriate healthcare support.

A partnership with a purpose

Why this partnership matters

Breast cancer outcomes can be improved when people have access to reliable information, appropriate screening and timely medical attention.

However, awareness alone is not enough. Communities also need opportunities to engage qualified health professionals, understand potential warning signs, receive appropriate screening and know what to do when further medical assessment is recommended.

Through this partnership, Stepin Women Foundation and Spyy Entertainment are connecting community mobilisation with practical health action.

The programme follows a simple approach

Float → Educate → Screen → Refer → Celebrate

  1. 1

    Float

Take breast cancer awareness directly into the community through organised awareness floats, public announcements, radio engagement and community mobilisation.

  2. 2

    Educate

Provide accessible information about breast cancer, risk factors, warning signs, prevention, early detection and the importance of seeking appropriate medical advice.

  3. 3

    Screen

Facilitate community-based breast health screening with qualified healthcare professionals and appropriate screening procedures.

  4. 4

    Refer

Provide guidance for individuals who require further assessment or medical attention and support appropriate referral pathways.

  5. 5

    Celebrate

Use music and community entertainment to bring people together, amplify the awareness message and create a positive environment for continued conversations about women’s health.

The programme in detail

What will happen during the outreach?

1

Community awareness

Before the screening activities, the programme will engage residents through:

  • Community awareness floats
  • Public address and sound systems
  • Radio awareness
  • Information-centre announcements
  • Community mobilisation
  • Educational messaging
  • Social media and digital awareness

The objective is to reach people where they live, work and interact, while encouraging eligible community members to participate in the health activities.

2

Breast cancer education

Participants will receive practical information covering:

  • What breast cancer is
  • Common breast cancer risk factors
  • Possible signs and symptoms
  • The importance of knowing changes in one’s breasts
  • Early detection and appropriate screening
  • When to seek medical attention
  • What happens after an abnormal finding
  • The importance of following professional medical advice
  • Available referral and healthcare pathways

Educational sessions will be delivered in a community-friendly format, allowing participants to ask questions and engage directly with healthcare professionals.

3

Community screening

Qualified healthcare professionals will support the screening component of the programme.

The screening activities will provide participating community members with an opportunity to receive appropriate breast health assessment within the organised outreach setting.

Where further investigation or medical attention is indicated, participants will be provided with appropriate guidance and referral information.

Important: Community screening does not replace diagnostic assessment or specialist medical care. Participants with concerning findings will be encouraged to seek appropriate follow-up through the recommended healthcare pathway.
4

Referral & follow-up

An important part of the initiative is ensuring that the programme does not end when the screening exercise is completed.

Participants requiring further assessment will receive guidance on:

  • Where to seek further medical evaluation
  • The importance of completing recommended follow-up
  • Referral pathways where applicable
  • Appropriate next steps following screening

Stepin Women Foundation will work with relevant healthcare professionals and referral partners to support the programme’s follow-up objectives.
